Let’s get one thing straight. Mental limits don’t exist. You can’t see them; you can’t touch them. Limits are only products of your mind, and whether you break them or let them keep you down, it is always your choice.

When I started to read and educated myself about the power of the mind, I was blown away. It felt like I just invented the light bulb or something. Not because I couldn’t believe it, but because it impressed me how simple yet hard it is for so many of us (including myself).

Because I believe, from the bottom of my heart, that mind is the most powerful tool we can possess, here are 6 ways how to break through mental limits and achieve what seems to be impossible at the moment.

1. Become fearless. Use your courage

No one in this world was born with or without courage. You have the same amount of potential to act fearlessly than anyone else around you. Courage means stepping out from your comfort zone and act against your fear.

If you have lived in fear for quite some time, breaking this habit may take a while. You must stretch your mind and change the habit of acting fearfully. Based on the post I have read from SecretsToSuccess Instagram page, changing a habit takes approximately 21 days. Give yourself some time and do one little courageous thing at the time. The size of the task isn’t as important as the fact that you are practicing it daily and continuously building this habit.

2. Choose positive thoughts

We all heard it. “Just be positive.” You may ask yourself, but how? It is simple. By selecting positive thoughts over negative.  You need to decide on your conscious level what thoughts you want to predominate your mind. Yes, it is hard work, so it is to feel miserable.

When you end up in some awkward situation, or you are dealing with hardships, use a power of questions to direct your focus to a solution and not the problem. I have learned the concept of empowering questions from Tony Robbin’s book “Awaken the Giant Within, ” and it helped me resolve many issues easier and quicker since then. Use your mind and think. Think and don’t complain, don’t blame others. Take responsibility for the way how you feel and every time you bump into a dead end, ask yourself what you can do or how you can change it instantly.

3. Revive your pain

You must think that I am crazy to talk to you about reviving your pain when we are trying to break limits here, right? Not at all. From my personal experience, the pain was often a great motivator and also a cause of my biggest breakthroughs. As struggle creates strength and often moves you forward, pain creates intolerance towards the situation you are in. It puts pressure on you and makes you feel like you can’t take it anymore. Then, you act upon it.

I don’t recommend to do it too often, but once in a while, think of everything you will lose, the opportunity you can miss and life you can waste if you don’t stand up to your limits and blow them away like the house of cards. More than likely it will motivate you to fight harder and deliberately work on yourself.

4. How much do you like yourself?

One of the main reasons people live in a fear or settle for ordinary life is a low self-esteem, poor level of confidence or lack of self-love. To be honest with you, often it hurts me to see people with great potential and incredible talent just waste it because they simply don’t believe in themselves. When you look in the mirror right now, do you feel proud of yourself? Do you like what you see with all the imperfections?

If you answered to any of these questions no, you must act now. You have one life. If you look around, no one is better off or worse than you. Don’t compare yourself to anyone else. The only competition here is you. Chose 15 minutes of your precious time daily and practice positive self-talk. The beginning is always the hardest and you may feel like what you are saying to yourself is not what you really believe in. That’s fine. Your subconscious mind will do a lot of work for you since it doesn’t know the difference between reality and the illusion. When you constantly repeat in your mind how great, gorgeous, talented, courageous and strong you are, it will eventually become a reality.

5. Create exciting image of your future

The first great motivator I mentioned above was the pain. Now the better part. Let inspire your mindset with pleasure. Create the picture of your future, the one you want and desire. Use this mental picture as a driven force, as a commitment, and desire to take action and hustle. Action gives you results which encourage you and toughen you up in breaking any mindset barriers.

6. Practice. Practice. Practice.

The primary excitement you have when you decide to go after something is great motivation to use. But, excitement can disappear as soon as problems appear. Act on breaking your mental limits not based on your feelings but based on a logic since euphoria will pass. Building strong mindset and overcoming dead ends is an ongoing process which only works if you do it in good as well as bad times. Stay committed and practice courage, building your confidence, visioning your future every single day. Only 21 days to develop the habit of breaking your mindset barriers and land in a destiny which was made just for you.

Building strong mindset and overcoming dead ends is an ongoing process which only works if you do it in good as well as bad times.
