We all have heard or maybe become a part of these big “get rich quick schemes.” Fast money was never a good idea when it comes to a long-term success and building a legacy. But there is one question which triggers my mind almost every day. How can you achieve your success faster and stand on the top of the mountain like a champion?
On one hand I know that patience is everything, I want to sit back and trust the process and the universe, but on the other hand, my heart wants to jump out of my body to finally reach the finish line.
Personal improvement and growth is a fascinating journey, and it takes times. I don’t think that you can take 10 years of experience and growth and squeeze them into one. But I am certain that there are a few steps you can take to speed up the process of self-development.
Here are 5 tips on how to reach your success faster.
1. Determine your dedication level
How dedicated and committed you are to yourself, and your dreams will be a big part of your movement. It makes the difference whether you read one book in a year or one book in a month. It also makes the difference whether you wake up at 6 am in the morning or you wake up at 10 am.
Great way how you can speed up your growth through dedication is by raising your standards, even just a bit. Waking up 30 minutes earlier every day can make a big difference because you gain 30 minutes of the extra time you didn’t have before. Once you dedicate yourself to this change, you’ll speed up your process and get done more or learn more which shows the true value in the long run.
2. Positive vs. Negative attitude
Let’s say you are having a “good day.” You are excited, smiling on everyone, walking around like a blooming flower, full of energy to conquer anything. In this mental state, your energy and productivity are maybe 5 times higher than if you are in a negative emotional state. If you aren’t having a “good day,” (I am putting it in quotations because I believe that most of the time we determine how that goes) even taking a shower can be challenging.
We all have those “bad days” once in a blue, and that’s fine because it creates a certain balance. But if you feel frustrated, angry and lazy most of the time, you will hardly get anything done or move forward. I want to recommend you a book called “Success through a positive mental attitude” which helped me to realize how attitude impacts our daily life, solving skills, creativity and overall success. I also wrote a short article, to sum up why this book was so awesome so click here and check it out.
3. Make the difference in people’s lives
You can find several reasons why helping others will have a tremendous impact on your personal growth and success. We all know our old good friend karma. I am only 27 years old, but I learned long time ago that karma always works, whether you do good or bad.
Second reason why your personal growth will speed up and expand is that by helping others, most of the people are going to remember you and feel a need to give back.
Third and the most important reason is that you will grow inside. You will feel more grateful, you become more empathic towards others, and you’ll understand that you can make a difference.
Helping people will gain you more respect and credibility, and you’ll feel more confident and certain about yourself. It allows you to aim higher that you thought before. There are tons of people needing help every day. Become a bigger person and share your heart with the world. Whatever you put out, will always come back.
4. No pain – No gain
How much pain can you endure and how much are you willing to take? The answer to this question will make a big difference in how fast you’ll move forward. I am not talking about some physical pain but the pain from discipline, the pain from commitment or the pain of sacrifice.
Are you willing to sacrifice watching TV and instead work on your project or read some knowledgeable book? Are you willing to work when others enjoy themselves on an annual vacation? Are you willing to go to sleep at 10 pm on Friday night while your friends are having fun out in the bars?
Whatever your question, determine the answer and what you are willing to give up today. More sacrifice brings better and faster results.
5. What is your personal investment?
We already covered the fact that hard work matters and always will. Your dedication and your sacrifice are pillars for success. But how much time, energy or money do you invest in yourself?
I know that many of you have children or maybe you have to take care of your parents, have a school and a job or multiple jobs. I get it. But I also think it is time to stop putting yourself last. You are the most important person in your life. Not because you are selfish or self-centered, but because as long as you feel like walking dead, you can’t do much for yourself or others because you are exhausted or unhappy.
