“With courage, you will dare to take risks, have the strength to be compassionate, and the wisdom to be humble. Courage is the foundation of integrity.” Keshavan Nair
If you look at any successful person, the one you admire, what values they represent for you? What do you think is the quality which got them where they are today? Is it commitment, dedication or empowered mindset? All of those play a vital role but courage, my friend, courage makes you break the walls and fight the hardest battles along the way.
When I look back on any of my accomplishments, courage was always part of it. It often laid a foundation which allowed me to beat the fear of unknown, failure, risk or anything which caused me to feel anxious and afraid. If you want to aim high, there can’t be a space for fear. It doesn’t mean that you don’t get scared, you certainly will, but you must have the courage to pass this fear and act upon it.
Becoming courageous is a process, and it takes great energy and willpower to do it. That’s why I have listed for you 5 reasons why courage should be, among the others important personal values, one of the top priorities for creating powerful mindset and success.
1. Courage gives you strength and certainty
Have you ever experienced the feeling when you break through something you were afraid of? It has been bothering and intimidating you for quite some time, and you were finally able to break in. Do you remember how you felt after? The enormous amount of energy was running through your body, the strength which made you feel that not even a bullet can stop you.
I am confident that each of you guys reading this right now have experienced this emotion at least once in a lifetime. Go back to this feeling. Revive this excitement because this is what the courage feels like. It’s powerful; it’s euphoric, and it gives you more certainty. Go out and be courageous, no matter how afraid you are. Without fear you can’t be brave so understand that this is the part of the process. Start with little things at first, and soon you will be climbing mountains.
2. It helps you in facing hardships
You and I know that problems and obstacles are part of life no matter how hard we try to avoid them. The difference is how you face difficulties since it will define how well you succeed in life. Courage will make this process for you so much easier because once the problem shows up, you’ll be ready to deal with it.
Becoming fearless allows you to control the problem instead of letting the problem controls you. When you feel brave, when you feel satisfied, you are more likely come up with a solution quickly and efficiently than when you are doubting yourself and feel afraid. As I mentioned above, courage gives you strength which makes solving your problems and overcoming hardships less painful.
3. It creates self-respect
Self-Esteem will play a huge role in the quality of your personal and professional life. Your intimate relationships will depend on how much you respect yourself, how your partner sees you and when enough is enough.
Unfortunately, some people want to take advantage if they sense you are weak or afraid. But your courage will let them know where you stand and how close they can come.
Overcoming fear will help you to see the best of yourself, to appreciate yourself for who you are and what you have accomplished. Breaking barriers in your life build up your confidence and with confidence comes respect. No matter how much money is in your bank account, what brands you are wearing or what car your drive, the sexiest look is healthy confidence and high self-esteem.
4. It doesn’t allow you to give up
Once you discover how much you are capable of, and that you are powerful beyond any limits, it isn’t going to be hard to stay on track. Any courageous act always brings a high level of satisfaction and allows your mind to see possibilities. If there is something possible, why would you give up?
People quit when they are weak when they are exhausted when they lose hope and vision, but courage doesn’t let you fall into this states if you are practicing it on a constant basis. Courage is the sign of the better future, of seeing things before they happen, it pushes you to make a change, and this has nothing to do with giving up. Even when you fail, courage will pull you back up and gives you 100 reasons to beat any negativity in your life.
5. It takes away pain
If you dislike your life, if you can’t make a change but you know it is so necessary, if you don’t know where you are going, you are in pain. It is a pain of living like a zombie. Waking up every day to a new beginning of something you don’t want. Once we settle (which is a very scary state) and we get used to living in a certain way, it is hard to make a change. We feel afraid of new things; we question whether everything will work out if we can handle it. But this is just your life as a bully who is trying to scare you. And this is your time to hit back with every single breath you’ve got.
You are running this show here. You are in charge of how things will work out at the end of the day so use your courage and build the life of your choice, no the one based on unexpected circumstances. Turn obstacles and pain into opportunities to train yourself in becoming better every day. Living a fearless life is possible, don’t doubt it but take a chance.
