“We don’t know who we are until we see what we can do.” Martha Grimes
Have you ever wondered what leads people to their biggest breakthrough? I believe it is an absolute driven force which comes from unhappiness and dissatisfaction. It is a fuel which makes you get up every morning without the ring of your alarm because you are hungry to succeed. The best part? Everyone can develop this motivator which calls inspirational dissatisfaction.
Just recently I was watching the video by Bob Proctor who you may know from the movie The Secret (more than likely you are already familiar with him) where he said that we should never feel 100 % satisfy. Does it make sense to you? I, personally, think this is a brilliant concept since the feeling of dissatisfaction often pushes your forward and urge you to act. Anytime I look back on my life; it was the sense of discomfort from a present situation which forced me to take action, be more creative and work harder on myself.
Since you will often be in competition with your mind, knowing how to manage to stay inspired and motivated may come handy. Here are 4 ways how to develop inspirational dissatisfaction and break through.
1. Listen to your pain and frustration
This is the two-way street, and you decide what side will get blocked. You either let the pain control your life and consume your spirit, or you will pay attention and act to destroy this feeling. I’ve said it many times, but pain truly is one of the greatest motivators you can have. Since you don’t like to feel frustrated or unhappy, you are ??? to act and make a change.
Don’t beat yourself down when things don’t work. Ask for more so you can get fed up and execute your feelings and ideas. I know that this may sound like a radical solution, but it often works for many people.
2. Set unachievable goals
Challenge yourself with goals which are beyond your imagination. You can’t lose anything only gain a better life and finding out how enormous potential is within you. What is the risk? What can you lose?
Setting goals which are hard to believe are achievable will set you on fire. You will create even greater discomfort from where you are right now because the desire of wanting more will be intense. Be in competition with yourself and get used to being uncomfortable. It is the only state of mind which has the most power for you to act courageously and demand better results from yourself.
3. Visualize everything you want
By seeing things or events you want in your life as reality, and then realizing that you still don’t have them will motivate you to succeed. I think that once your passion is burning it is hard to give up.
Use your vision as a more fun exercise to self-motivated yourself and develop positive, inspirational dissatisfaction. I want to point out one thing for you if we want these steps to work out. You absolutely must have a positive attitude within yourself while working towards your goals. If you are taking some action but keep being frustrated and impatient, you are only going backward.
4. Thank people when they doubt you
Did anyone just discouraged you and laughed at your dreams? Awesome. Now, take it as a best motivational speech ever and keep moving forward. It hurts, it makes you cry, and it even knocks you down in some cases. Use this opportunity and prove others that no matter their opinion, you are what you decide to be.
Discouragement from close people is hard to shoot. But the truth is, more than likely you are going to experience it, and it is up to you whether it makes you or breaks you.
Creating inspirational dissatisfaction isn’t hard. Maybe it is already circulating in your body and that’s why you are pushing so hard. There are many benefits you can use and motivate yourself to better results and achieving your goals one by one.
