Life isn’t an outcome of significant events which happen once in a lifetime; it is a result of those little things you do on a constant basis. When you see “overnight success,” you see years and years of hard work and dedication, performing certain tasks and activities on an ongoing basis. Success and happiness in life are a result of proper habits.
Developing a habit takes approximately 21 days which was an amazing discovery for me. If you think about it, 21 days isn’t a long time to change something bad into something good. So I took a challenge. 25 days later, I barely put out any effort to perform a particular task because my mind and body got used to it.
I know from personal experience than many are triggered by the question “How to create a high quality of life and achieve success?” Here are 4 ways how you can develop positive habits in less than a month and design your life how you want.
1. Which area of your life needs improvement?
The first thing to start with is to look at your life and find the area you aren’t satisfied with. Do you have problems in relationships or your career? Are you satisfy with your body? Is your financial situation good? It is crucial for you to find the exact area of your life which needs improvement so it will become clear for you and you can work on next steps.
2. Identify your old (bad) habits
The second step is to make a list of bad habits. Be very specific about it. Let’s say you want to save money and you have a reliable income, but your money seems to disappear. Make a list of everything you are spending on. Do you really need these stuff? Have you considered reading a book about finances which can change your perspective and teach you how to work with money and invest?
The key here is to look at it as a fun game, as something positive you are about to do in your life. Don’t beat yourself down for not being the most disciplined or committed. Change can be made anytime, and the sign you are reading this is already a step forward.
3. Set up a game plan
Now you know what bothers you and what habits got you where you are today. That’s great. Go ahead and set up a new way of life, new habits and better rituals. You need to have a role model and seek some useful information on how to get what you want.
If you want to lose weight, find a person in your surroundings and ask them how they did it. If you don’t, search online some good recipes and advice. There are tons of good famous fitness trainers who have helped many people in changing their diet and losing weight. Find some reviews about them and if they seem trustworthy to you, follow them. It’s all about changing old for the new; it’s about changing a game.
4. Keep going (30-day commitment)
The only thing left is your dedication and commitment to a particular change. You have everything set; you have learned what necessary changes are, you did most of the work. Now you need to adopt your mind and body to a new habit. You can accomplish this only by actually doing it.
I would recommend changing one to two habits at the time, so you don’t get overwhelmed. Take it one step at the time. If you want to start running every morning for an hour, you can try to start with only 30 minutes for a month. The key here is to take control of your life and feel confident about it.
30 days. That is all you need to transform your life. Don’t hesitate, remember that time is the only limit you have.
