4 Reasons Why Willingness to Sacrifice Defines Your Success Hunger

“The most important decision about your goals is not what you are willing to do to achieve them, but what you are willing to give up.” Dave Ramsey

We don’t get something for nothing. Forget about “free lunch.”  It doesn’t exist except if you were born with a gold spoon in your mouth. Life and success itself are about constant sacrifice and giving up something in the present to gain more in the future.

People often ask for more, want more, desire better. But when you look at their actions and scale of priorities, what do they really do to make a change? If you make a little change, you get little results. Sacrifice may be painful but I think even more painful is living the rest of your life regretting and being unhappy with what you do and who you are.

I know it gets tough and I understand you may want to give up because you are exhausted. I get that. But success comes when you refuse to give up, and you are willing to give before you get.  Here are 4 reasons why the level of your sacrifice will always define your results and the actual success behind it.

1. It speaks the truth

Nothing tells you more about person’s lifestyle, work ethic or their commitment than the level of sacrifice they make every single day. You can speak and brag about yourself as much as you can, if you are not walking your talk, you bullshit yourself.

The sacrifice you are willing to make will always prove who you are and what mindset you have. You will feel it because it may be a little painful. But if you know what you want, and you believe that this is your happiness which fulfills you, forget about party, forget about shows, forget about hanging out. Get your priorities straight and prove yourself that you got it.

2. It takes away comfort

If you feel 100% comfortable in your daily life, you are dying, Sorry for the choice of words but it is straight up truth. Sacrifice is doing what you have to do and leaving behind what you want to do. No matter how big your purpose is, a sacrifice will partly hurt and make you uncomfortable. That is the benefit of enjoying triumphs and victories.

You know you are doing something right if you are reaching the extra mile if you are nervous or frustrated or tired but still keep going. You know what you must do to get to where you want to go. Comfort isn’t a place between you and your goal. Sacrifice is.

3. It will push you beyond limits

Have you ever had the day when you were so tired, so exhausted that you want to cry? I certainly did, and I must tell you, it drove me crazy. After I had finished my two jobs, I came home, and I knew I must write this article, I must chat with a guy from WordPress for 3 hours and figure out why this or that doesn’t work on my website since I am a complete rookie.  But I also know that when I lie in my bed at night, I was crying not because of frustration from the luck of sleep, but because of the satisfaction that I made it.

Sacrifice isn’t only about giving, sacrifice is about giving a lot at the beginning so you can enjoy rewards afterward. The amount of work you are willing to put into your passion is the size of success you can expect in the future.

4. It tests your commitment

I am a firm believer that commitment is a golden skill to achieve the success of any kind. Out there are people with big ideas, people who are excited, talented people, but if their level of commitment isn’t big enough, they aren’t real competition. Hard work beats resources, hard work beats talent, hard work beats money. Only the genuine commitment and the level of sacrifice you are willing to make define where in life you are going to end up.

  1. Living in comfort does indeed leaves one in mediocre. But the real comfort is the result of sacrifice that one lives in afterwards. Getting home tired from a normal job is likely to deceive you, by instilling that mindset of, you're done for the day. However, when you push hard beyond the love of your body, you tend to provoke the success that you'd desired for a long time. And that success has no other way to go but to come and fullfill the law of - success following handwork.

    • I share your point of view Karel. My biggest believe is that hard work brings success. The feeling of comfort after we reach success is a comfort from satisfaction. You have some valuable insights in your comment. I love it.
