“Dissatisfaction is a necessary condition for reasonable life. Only this motivates to work over yourself.” Leo Tolstoy
What do you feel when you hear the word dissatisfaction? Does it feel negative to you or it challenges you to change? Do you agree with me that dissatisfaction is a great way to move to your biggest breakthroughs?
No one likes to feel discomfort. But often the feeling of frustration moves you forward and pushes you to take extraordinary actions. I feel dissatisfied every day. Every day I believe that there is something better and bigger I can accomplish and manifest in my life. I know I want to take it to the next level, and I also know that you too, otherwise you wouldn’t read this.
Here are three reasons why you should be grateful when you feel dissatisfied. It is a sign of being hungry and want more from life.
1. It guides you towards self-improvement
Usually, you don’t improve because you are happy or satisfied with your life. You improve because you want more, and you feel that there is something better. Improvement or change often come from frustration or pain living the way you don’t want. Pain is a great tool which leads to achieving extraordinary results and mastering yourself.
I have learned that people often feel guilty because they constantly want more. There is nothing wrong with this. You have the right to dream more; you have the right to demand the best from yourself. Being grateful doesn’t mean you feel satisfied. It means that you value what you have, but you haven’t stopped there.
2. It doesn’t allow you to settle
If you are a person who understands that you form your life and shape every part of it, dissatisfaction doesn’t let you settle. It will tease you every day to get up and do or try something different, make progress or learn new things.
In my opinion, settling is dying. I don’t mean to “settle” and create a family type of stuff. I mean to settle for what you’ve got and live it even when it doesn’t make you happy. Dissatisfaction gives you courage and strength to expand and grow and refuse to live your life based on uncontrollable circumstances.
3. It pisses you off and pushes you to change
Do you know the feeling when frustration accumulates to the point where is no longer tolerable? You are getting to the zone where enough is enough. Dissatisfaction is a signal that change needs to be made because obviously, you are not happy where you are right now.
To be honest with you, sometimes I want to feel more and more dissatisfaction. I know I need it in order to make a breakthrough. Once you get to the point where nothing matters except what you want, you will feel fearless; you will be determined to do anything to make a change. Remember that dissatisfaction may be a great motivator.
